ABOUT
Rachel Bavidge is a London-based actor and award-winning audiobook narrator, with 25 years behind the microphone.
Her reading of Ian McEwan’s What We Can Know was named one of Audible’s 20 best listens of 2025, and she has won AudioFile Earphones Awards for What We Can Know, Lea Ypi’s Free and Wilkie Collins’s The Woman in White.
She has narrated for Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Hachette and Bloomsbury, among many others: everything from classics to contemporary fiction, thrillers, children’s books and academic non-fiction. To all of them she brings fluency, warmth and intelligence.
Alongside audiobooks, she voices commercials and game characters. Her voice is English RP, but she grew up in the North East of England and has a natural Geordie accent that clients often ask for.
She studied at Cambridge University, trained at Webber Douglas and has had two stints with the BBC Radio Drama Company. She now records from her own purpose-built home studio.
